FAQ Massage

I do not know if I want Swedish or Deep Tissue. What do I do?

You are paying for the time, not the pressure. It can be mixed or just one of the two pressures. It will be assessed what your body will need to optimize the experience.

Why do I have to fill out an intake form when I arrive for my appointment?

To make sure that there was due diligence in addressing your needs with comfort and safety. Certain medical conditions and/or medication can affect/limit or even prevent from having a massage. Even the amount of time when an injury/surgery occurs holds just as much importance. It only needs to be filled at initial visit, and then once a year for any changes or updates.

I just had a vaccination done recently (RSV, Covid, etc.) and would like to have a treatment, is that permissible?

It would not be recommended as the vaccine/s can have symptoms in your body that can compromise you during the massage. Please wait until the symptoms from the vaccine are no longer present in your body.

This is my first treatment; what should I do?

The body is different from person to person, whether the first massage or a connoisseur. Each body part holds tension differently from person to person. There is always a next time to change.keep duration or try another service entirely. Please communicate as to what is appropriate in pressure to ensure your safety and comfort.

Do you use aromatics in the office and/or treatment room?

Out of respect for possible allergies, we do not use aroma (diffuser/burning/applied to skin) related products. Also, we do not want to place people in the business and the business itself at risk. I do share a space with other practitioners. In addition, the therapist will be scent-free and will be asking for you (the client) to be as well.

What oil is being used in service?

The unscented massage oil consists of a jojoba and grapeseed oil blend.

If you would like to have a conversation, then let the therapist know; otherwise, it is assumed that you would like a quiet treatment. The only time/s I (the therapist) talk is to check in and to give simple directions. Please bear in mind that since I do share a space with other practitioners, there may be times that you may hear other guests. The front desk and practitioners are aware to keep it a minimum and inform the guests coming in about this as well.

As a licensed massage therapist, dealing with the livelihoods of individuals, I will do no harm, and that includes being inappropriate (i.e. sexual). I take my license and passion for helping others seriously.
